CUSTOM WALLPAPER FOR AMERICA EATS TAVERN
Here is a really amazing example of custom wallpaper we printed and installed for America Eats Tavern, located in the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner. Whenever we are approached to produce graphics for walls, we always discuss several options with our clients. In some cases, adhesive vinyl is the best option. Vinyl is normally laminated, allowing for the surface to be easily cleaned and protected against damage. This is great in high-traffic areas. However, there are often challenges with vinyl: the quality of the wall, as well as the appearance and necessity of overlaps.
Another solution is printed wall-covering. Printed wall-covering is essentially custom wallpaper that is installed with conventional paste. The upside of traditional wall-covering is it is normally installed with no overlap. The downside is that laminate is rarely used due to the texture of the surface. In the end, a proper evaluation of your end-use, your location, and many other job-specific requirements go into the final decision.
For this particular job, we decided on wall-covering. In a restaurant setting, the goal is to have long-lasting, professional-looking custom graphics. Since most of the murals are out of the high traffic areas, a laminate was not required. We produced and installed 3 custom wallpaper murals: one on the ceiling and two on the wall for America Eats Tavern. The end result are beautiful examples of what is possible when fantastic creative combines with the perfect substrate.
Here is a link to the write-up of the restaurant on washingtonian.com. Everything looks tasty and all of the decor matches the overall theme. Fantastic work!
